Upcoming Discipleship Trips

This year, we’re sending teams to Costa Rica and the United Kingdom! These Discipleship Trips are designed to help participants step away from the noise of everyday life and create space to be with God. They’re all about learning to hear His voice, growing in intimacy with Him, and allowing time with the Holy Spirit to shape who you are before you step into doing anything for Him.

Registration for both our Costa Rica and United Kingdom trips is now closed, and we’re so grateful for everyone who will be serving on these teams. If you’ve been feeling called to either of these trips but weren’t able to register, there’s still an opportunity to be part of what God is doing by giving toward the teams we’re sending. Your generosity helps make these trips possible and directly supports the ministry taking place in both Costa Rica and the UK!

Beach Day

Beach Day is one of our favorite ways to spend time with our church family, and this year it’s happening right in the middle of our Reaching Your One series! We all know someone who may not be ready to walk through the doors of a church but would gladly spend an afternoon at the beach with friends. This is the perfect opportunity to invite your one into a relaxed, welcoming environment where genuine relationships can begin.

Join us after the 11 AM service on Sunday, August 30, as we head together to the 9th Ave N Beach Access following Beach Baptisms for food, games, conversation, and community. Bring a beach chair, invite a friend, and consider serving on one of our teams to help create a place where everyone feels seen, welcomed, and loved.

BibleTrack is back! At Beach Church, we’re committed to growing in Biblical literacy because the more we know God’s Word, the more we’re equipped to follow Jesus faithfully. BibleTrack is how we offer an in-depth study of Scripture, and this fall we’re inviting you to join us for a 16-week journey through the entire New Testament. Whether you’re reading the Bible for the first time or have been studying it for years, this course will help you better understand God’s story, the life and ministry of Jesus, the early Church, and how the New Testament applies to your everyday life.

This is more than a Bible study, it’s an opportunity to build a stronger foundation in your faith alongside others who are hungry to grow. BEAM: Back to School Bash

As we continue living out our Greater Things vision, we have an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a tangible way. This year, we’re partnering with BEAM, Carver Center, and several local churches to provide 750 backpacks filled with school supplies for Jacksonville Beach families who need a little extra support as they head back to school. A simple backpack may seem small, but it can remind a child and their family that they are seen, loved, and not walking through life alone!

We’d love for everyone in our church family to be part of this mission in at least one way. You can donate a new backpack, serve on July 24 by helping prepare supplies, or serve on August 1 at BEAM’s Back to School Bash. Together, we can meet practical needs, share the love of Jesus, and take our place in God’s bigger story by making a lasting impact in our community!

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced leader to serve as our next BeachKids Director! Job Overview: BeachKids is a space where all kids belong. The focus of the ministry is to raise up kids to follow Jesus.

Goal of Position: Lead teams of volunteers and staff to create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment where all kids belong and experience the love of Jesus. Establish a culture of spiritual and emotional health and maturity by discipling staff, volunteers, and parents. Build systems and establish rhythms that move forward the mission and vision of Beach Church. Lead BeachKids by building systems and developing leaders to deliver measurable ministry outcomes. Finally, lead with discernment of the Holy Spirit, following God’s will for the ministry.

Overview of Position: This is a leadership position. Directly reporting to the Family Pastor, the BeachKids Director will work to establish culture on the BeachKids team that is reflective of the overall values of Beach Church. The BeachKids Director will contribute to the creative and strategic process in the family ministry philosophy. The BeachKids Director will be a resource/sounding board for the Family Pastor and the greater Beach Church team with respect to resolving conflict, brainstorming, problem solving, and optimizing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Builds, organizes, and manages projects from start to completion, ensuring they are scheduled and approved in Planning Center
• Develops and maintains the ministry calendar with special events, trips, and weekly plans for various experiences, with the Family Pastor
• Leads or empowers others to lead meetings and cast vision with volunteer teams and staff
• Communicates vision clearly and consistently to staff, volunteers, and the congregation
• Designs and implements systems and processes that drive consistency, efficiency, and excellence within the ministry
• Owns ministry outcomes (engagement, volunteer health, participation, etc.)
• Works with Senior Ministry Pastor to help develop and manage overall ministry budget (authorized to approve expenses within department budget)

Leadership Responsibility:
• Builds and sustains a healthy, high-performing staff culture
• Partners with the Family Pastor to develop a vision for the ministry consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Beach Church
• Meets weekly with BeachKids staff in 1-on-1s, helping to establish specific goals for each staff member
• Fosters crucial conversations for staff development and culture
• Provides spiritual guidance, teaching, and mentoring for team and volunteer network
• Cultivate relationships throughout Beach Church (staff, lay leadership, congregation)
• Communicates and delegates tasks within the ministry team effectively
• Ensures accurate records are kept and kept confidential when needed
• Conducts performance reviews and provides coaching and/or corrective feedback to direct reports
• Responsible for ministry outcomes, including engagement, volunteer health, and performance metrics
• Makes staffing recommendations and participates in hiring decisions in partnership with the Family Pastor

Success Factors:
• Utilizing timely and effective communication with parents, staff, and volunteers will be necessary to build and maintain relationships in this role
• Casting vision, leading teams, and working to create a positive work environment that is driving the mission of Beach Church forward and building a healthy, growing team of staff and volunteers (both in numbers and in spiritual development)
• Having clear systems and structures in place for the ministry
• Building and achieving measurable ministry impact
• Leading and supervising staff, interns, and volunteers by creating a thriving BeachKids environment through the upkeep of spaces, engagement with families, and spiritual/emotionally mature leadership
• Operating with a spirit of excellence, not perfection, in everything we do

Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience is preferred.
• Served in volunteer capacity as strong leader within a church
• Served 3-5 years as Coordinator or comparable position

Student Trip Gifting

For several summers, our students have traveled to Costa Rica to partner with a ministry serving the community in San Ramón. What makes this trip so special is that it isn’t just a one-time mission experience – our students have built lasting relationships with the children, teens, and families there over the years. This summer, they’ll have the opportunity to reconnect with those friendships while serving through kids’ and youth events, sharing the love of Jesus, and living out the Great Commission in a tangible way.

This trip has the potential to be a life-changing and faith-shaping experience for our students, helping them grow in their faith while making an eternal impact in the lives of others. We want to invite our church family to partner with Student Ministry by helping support these students financially as they prepare to return to Costa Rica this summer.
